Robin Arwas was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1948. Robin paints a vivid picture of daily life in Alexandria, and describes his family home in detail. His family had British citizenship and in 1956 were forced to leave Egypt after the Suez Crisis. He describes leaving Egypt and his time at Reading and Kidderminster refugee camps. The family eventually settled in London.
