Henry Dallal was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1955. His family were Baghdadi Jews, and Henry grew up with both the cultures and traditions of Iraqi and Iranian Jewry. Henry attended university in the USA, and then returned to Iran. When Revolution broke out in 1979 Henry opted to remain in Tehran and began photographing events as Press. He left Iran in 1982 and moved to the UK in 1994, where he established a career as a renowned photographer.
