Michel Arwas was born 1945 in Alexandria, Egypt. In his interview he described his home in Sporting, Alexandria and being a boarder at a French Jesuit School. Michel and his family left Egypt in 1956 and he described the journey to England, arriving on Christmas Eve. He no longer feels like an immigrant, but refers to himself as the son of refugees.
