Aida Hakim was born in 1929 in Baghdad, Iraq. In her interview, she remembered the Farhud in great detail. The Farhud was a pogrom carried out against the Jewish population of Baghdad in 1941. Aida and her husband were separated from their son who was living in England for many years, until they were reunited in London in 1971.
