Abdullah Dangoor was born in 1914 in Baghdad, when Iraq was still part of the Ottoman Empire. In his interview, he said he felt strongly felt his identity as an Iraqi and he spoke about the history of Iraq in general. He left Iraq in 1959 and settled in London in 1961.
